Meta creative review · revised 26 October 2026

Two different problems wearing the same rejection label

Meta gives all fourteen ads one reason: Online Gambling and Games. But the account contains a natural control group — sixty-three ads, one shared primary text, and five creatives that are rejected and running at the same time. Testing against it splits the fourteen into two groups: ten where a single headline word decides the outcome, and four where the creative is irrelevant and the App Store listing is the only thing that differs.

Group A — the headline is the variable

Ten ads, five images, rejected on both iOS and Android. Each belongs to a concept whose sibling variant is approved and running. Within a concept the badges, sublines, cash figures and CTAs are identical. The headline is what changes — and the direction is consistent: the rejected one promises the outcome, the approved one offers a chance at it.

Four ads where the byte-identical image (same Meta image_hash) with the same primary text is approved and running on Android while the iOS copy is rejected. The Hinglish variant of the card above, splitting exactly the same way.

The destination explains the split

Meta’s policy covers landing pages. Every Group B rejection points at the iOS App Store; every running twin points at Google Play. Those two listings are not the same text — and they differ on exactly the sentence that decides Meta’s money-game test.

Rejection rates by ad set are consistent with this: 9 of 26 on the iOS set, 4 of 26 on Android registration, 1 of 11 on Android install.

Why that delta matters

Meta’s test, quoted in your notice, is monetary value as a method of entry and monetary value as the prize. A destination check on the App Store page sees contests marked frequent, rewards “on the line”, in-app purchases enabled, a 16-and-over age gate and a responsible-play disclaimer — the full signature of real-money gaming — with the one line that rebuts the entry half missing. The Play page carries that rebuttal under a heading.

This is correlation, not proof a reviewer opened the page. But it matches the platform split exactly, it is a difference the client controls, and it is cheap to fix and re-test.

What to avoid, re-tested

Each row is now checked against an approved ad carrying the same element. Four of my earlier recommendations do not survive that test and are marked cleared.

Next steps

Reordered from my earlier version. The appeal advice in particular has reversed — four of these ads now have a concrete, checkable argument behind them.

  1. Align the App Store listing with the Play Store listing

    Highest value

The cheapest fix with the clearest rationale, and entirely within the client’s control. Add the Play Store’s “REWARDS WORTH PLAYING FOR — No entry fees.” section to the App Store description, and reconsider the “PLAY RESPONSIBLY … responsible play” closer, which is the standard disclaimer of the gambling sector and is doing the client no favours on a page Meta may be checking. Krafton controls both listings.

  2. Appeal the four platform-split ads

    This week

120251098188670718, 120251098197790718, 120251050178960718, 120251050178940718. The argument is concrete and checkable: identical image_hash, identical primary text, approved on Android, rejected on iOS. This reverses my earlier advice not to appeal — that was based on believing content caused every rejection.

  3. Fix the five content-driven creatives, headline only

    This week

C011 V1 and V2, C012 V1 and V3, C006 V2. Keep the art, the badges, the cash figure and the CTA. Rewrite only the headline to offer a chance rather than promise a result, using the approved sibling in each concept as the template — it already cleared review with everything else unchanged.

  4. Re-submit iOS only after the listing is updated

    Sequenced

If the destination reading is right, re-submitting the same iOS ads against an unchanged App Store page will fail again. Change the listing first, let it propagate, then re-submit one ad and watch the outcome before scaling.

  5. Do not rewrite the shared primary text

    Dropped

It is on all 63 ads and 34 are running. Changing it costs creative time and fixes nothing. I previously called this the single highest-value fix; the control group shows it is not.

  6. Drop the Krafton IP concern

    Dropped

Withdrawn. Both listings credit KRAFTON, Inc. as publisher — the owner of BGMI and organiser of BGIS. The client is using its own marks. There is nothing to clear.
